ACNA joins South Sudan Independence Celebration on July 9th 2011 in San Diego, California. ACNA saw the importance of Communities struggle for a good cause and they sent their representatives to share the moment. They award the South Sudan Community with a certificate of support. Acholi (also Acoli) is an ethnic group from the districts of Gulu, Amuru, Kitgum and Pader in northern Uganda (an area commonly referred to as Acholiland), and Magwe County in southern Sudan. The 1991 Uganda census counted 746,796 Acholi; a further 45,000 Acholi live outside of Uganda.
